About Snack Kreyòl

Rooted in Haitian Heritage
Haitian cuisine is one of the most flavorful and underrepresented food traditions in the United States. It carries centuries of history: indigenous Taíno ingredients, African cooking techniques brought through the diaspora, and French colonial influence that shaped the pastry and sauce traditions. All of that converges in every Haitian dish.
At Snack Kreyol, we do not treat that heritage as a novelty or a marketing angle. It is who we are. Our recipes are rooted in the same Caribbean Haitian food culture that gave the world griyo, soup joumou, pikliz, and diri ak djon djon. We bring those traditions to Port St. Lucie and cook them with the same respect and attention that our elders taught us.
The name says it all. “Kreyol” is more than a language. It represents a culture built on resilience, community, and a deep love for food that nourishes both body and spirit. When you walk into our cafe, that culture is on every plate.
Our Story
Snack Kreyol started with a simple idea: bring real Caribbean food to Port St. Lucie. Not the watered-down version of island cooking that shows up on tourist menus. Not fusion dishes that borrow a name and leave the flavor behind. The real thing, made with the same ingredients, techniques, and care that Haitian families have practiced for generations.
That idea began with plantain chips. Handmade, small-batch, seasoned by hand and fried to a crunch that held up against anything on a grocery store shelf. Those chips became Snack Kreyol’s first product, and the response from the community made one thing clear: people on the Treasure Coast were hungry for authentic Caribbean flavor. The chips opened the door, and a full Caribbean menu walked through it.
Today, Snack Kreyol is a Caribbean cafe in Port St. Lucie that serves everything from boneless griots and plantain sandwiches to handmade pâtés and traditional Haitian desserts. Every dish on our menu traces back to recipes passed down through family kitchens in Haiti. We cook from scratch, season by feel, and serve with the same warmth you would find at a family table in Port-au-Prince.

What Drives Us Every Day
Running a Caribbean cafe in Port St. Lucie means more than serving meals. It means representing a culture in a community that may not have grown up with it. Every plate that leaves our kitchen is an introduction for someone or a homecoming for someone else.
We are motivated by the customers who tell us our griots remind them of their grandmother’s cooking. We are motivated by the people who try Haitian food for the first time and come back the next week with friends. We are motivated by the idea that good food, made honestly, always finds its audience.
That is why we do not cut corners. We make our seasoning blends from scratch. We hand-form every pâté. We fry our plantain chips in small batches because that is the only way to get them right. It takes more time and more effort, but the food speaks for itself.
We are always happy to talk about our food, our heritage, or placing an order. Reach out anytime. Contact the Snack Kreyol team.

Goute Wa We: Taste and See
Our tagline, “Goute wa we,” is Haitian Creole for “Taste and see.” It captures everything Snack Kreyol stands for. We do not need to convince you with a sales pitch. We just need you to take the first bite. The food does the talking from there.
Whether you are ordering plantain chips online, sitting down for a plate of griots, or grabbing a pâté on your lunch break, you are experiencing the same commitment to quality and authenticity. That commitment is not a business strategy. It is a promise that we make to every person who walks through our door or places an order on our website.
We invite you to taste and see for yourself. Stop by our Caribbean cafe in Port St. Lucie or place an order online.
