A Taste of the Islands on Every Plate
The Snack Kreyol Caribbean menu is built on one principle: real food, made the way it should be. Every dish on our menu draws from Haitian culinary traditions that go back generations. We prepare each item fresh, using authentic ingredients and recipes passed down through family kitchens in the Caribbean.
Our café in Port St. Lucie brings Caribbean Haitian food to the Treasure Coast, from savory pâtés stuffed with slow-cooked fillings to crispy plantain sandwiches loaded with bold flavors. The Caribbean menu below covers everything we serve, including entrées, sides, drinks, and desserts.
Whether you grew up eating Haitian food or you are trying it for the first time, there is something here for you. Sit down, take your time, and let the food speak for itself.
Entrées and Sandwiches
Our entrées are the heart of the Caribbean menu. Each plate is built around proteins and flavors central to Haitian cooking, served fresh and made to order.
Plantain Sandwiches
Thick slices of fried plantain replace the bread in these hearty sandwiches. The natural sweetness of the plantain pairs with savory fillings for a combination you will not find at any other restaurant on the Treasure Coast. It is one of those dishes that sounds simple but delivers on every level. The crispy exterior gives way to a soft, warm center, and the filling brings everything together.
Boneless Griots
Griots (pronounced gree-oh) is one of Haiti’s most beloved dishes. Pork is marinated in a blend of citrus, garlic, and aromatic spices, then slow-braised until tender. After braising, the meat gets fried to golden perfection, giving each piece a crispy outside and a juicy, flavorful inside. Our boneless version keeps all the flavor with none of the hassle. Served with your choice of side, it is a meal that Haitian families have gathered around for generations.
Rice Bowls
A rice bowl at Snack Kreyol is not the same as what you find at fast-casual chains. Ours starts with seasoned Caribbean rice as the base, then gets topped with your choice of protein and fresh accompaniments. Think of it as a complete Haitian plate in bowl form: filling, balanced, and deeply satisfying. Each rice bowl works as a full meal on its own.
Pâtés and Empanadas
If there is one item that defines Haitian street food, it is the pâté. Flaky, golden pastry stuffed with seasoned fillings. At Snack Kreyol, we make two styles by hand, and every single one comes out of the kitchen fresh.
Pâté Kòde (Empanadas)
These are the classic handheld pâtés you find in Haitian bakeries and street carts across the Caribbean. A sturdy, golden shell wraps around a generous filling. Each one is sealed, fried, and served hot. Pick from six filling options:
- Beef – Seasoned ground beef with aromatic spices
- Chicken – Tender shredded chicken in a savory blend
- Pork – Slow-cooked pork with traditional Haitian seasoning
- Egg and Chicken – A heartier combination with egg and chicken together
- Vegetable – A vegetarian option loaded with seasoned vegetables
- Breakfast – A morning-style filling perfect for starting the day
Pâtés Feuilletées
The puff-pastry version of the Haitian pâté. Lighter and more delicate than the Kòde style, these pâtés feuilletées have a buttery, multilayered shell that shatters when you bite in. The French influence on Haitian cuisine shows up clearly here: the technique is classic pastry-making, but the fillings are pure Caribbean flavor. We offer five varieties, each handmade in our kitchen.
Bringing Authentic Caribbean Flavors to You
At Snack Kreyòl, we believe that food is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. Our café offers flavor-packed, homemade dishes that celebrate the rich culinary traditions of the Caribbean. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty meal or a quick snack, you’ll find something to love on our menu.
Sides
Every good Caribbean meal includes the right sides. Ours are made fresh and designed to stand on their own or round out an entrée plate.
- Fresh Salads – Crisp, simple salads that balance the richness of fried and braised items on the Caribbean menu.
- Fried Plantains – Golden, caramelized slices of ripe plantain. Sweet, soft on the inside, and crispy on the edges. A staple of Haitian tables everywhere.
- Black Rice and Vegetables – Seasoned black rice served alongside fresh vegetables. A hearty, flavorful base that works with any protein.
- Pikliz – Haitian pickled cabbage slaw with scotch bonnet peppers, carrots, and vinegar. Tangy, spicy, and essential for cutting through rich dishes. If you have not tried pikliz before, this is the condiment that ties a Haitian plate together.
- Chiktay – A traditional smoked herring spread with bold, smoky flavors. It is unique to Haitian cuisine and rarely found outside of Caribbean kitchens.
- Smoked Aran (Smoked Herring) – Whole smoked herring prepared in the traditional Caribbean style. Rich, savory, and packed with flavor.
Drinks
Our drink selection includes house-made Caribbean beverages and familiar classics. Each one is chosen to pair well with the bold flavors on the Caribbean menu.
- Island Bliss – A house-made tropical drink that captures the bright, refreshing flavors of the Caribbean.
- Lemonade – Fresh-squeezed and perfectly balanced between tart and sweet.
- Café au Lait – Rich coffee blended with steamed milk. A nod to the French-Caribbean coffee tradition that is a morning ritual across Haiti.
- Mama’s Tea – A warm, comforting tea blend inspired by the herbal teas that Haitian mothers brew at home.
- Cola Couronne – The iconic Haitian soda. Sweet, fruity, and a taste of home for anyone who grew up in the Caribbean.
- Soft Drinks – Classic soft drink options available alongside our specialty beverages.
Desserts
No Caribbean meal is complete without something sweet. Our desserts feature traditional Haitian treats made fresh in-house.
- Rum Cakes – Moist, dense cake soaked in Caribbean rum. Each slice carries warm, rich flavor with a subtle boozy sweetness.
- Guava and Cheese Pastry – Flaky pastry filled with sweet guava paste and soft cheese. The combination of sweet fruit and savory cheese is a Caribbean classic that works as dessert or a midday snack.
- Pen Manyòk (Cassava Cake) – A traditional Haitian cake made from grated cassava, coconut milk, and spices. It has a dense, pudding-like texture that is unlike anything in American baking. This is comfort food at its finest.
Our Plantain Chips
In addition to our café menu, Snack Kreyol makes handcrafted plantain chips in four flavors: Original, Sweetened, Ranch, and Spicy Ranch. Grab a bag to take home after your meal, or order online and have them shipped anywhere in the United States.
Our chips started this whole journey, and they remain one of the best ways to taste what Caribbean snacking is all about.
